Vapor lock?That's all I can figure. SYMPTOM: On hot days, after 15-20 minutes of riding, engine wants to sputter and die at a stop. Can be remedied by keeping an inordinate amount of throttle on while braking, or... after first noticing the issue, pop open the fuel filler, restart (with a healthy goose of the throttle!), and ride on, like nothing ever happened. During the latter, the problem does not reoccur.
The section I circled in yellow, above, looks to me like some sort of venting system. If anyone knows, sing out -- I'll try running a bit of guitar string through there, to see if some gunk is clogging that up, tomorrow. As you can see, the bike isn't surgical theater-clean. ;)
