Day Two: Vino, Bus, Bus, Vino

I really expected the Kymco to start, this morning, since it fired up so quick 'n' easy last night, but it was not to be. Fortunately, I got up early enough to fire up the Vino, and ride to the bus stop to catch the 7:21 #10, which gets me downtown to catch the 7:44 #25, which drops me off less than two blocks from work.

James e-mailed me overnight, to let me know he wants to get me back on the road... of course, I was never in any doubt of that! His service has been excellent to date. It'll all get worked out, I'm sure.

  1. I had the same problem on my brand new, two days old People 250. We got to checking and the battery terminal was a bit beaten up. We tightened it up and it cranks fine. When we tested the battery, it only gave a rating of 10 amps or whatever they are called. When we tightened it up, it was up to the needed 12 amps to start. Maybe your connections are a tiny bit loose?

  2. Scott Thigpen -- Naw; it's got plenty of spark (until I run the battery dry cranking it); it's gettin' no gas. The carb is screwy. James said he's gonna start out trying to replace the enrichener (auto-choke), but he's got to wait for the parts to get to him.

Now, dude: What happened to your eBay Helix? And when do we get photos of the P250? Note that I moved you from "non-Kymco" to "Kymco" on the blogroll. :)

  3. I'll post my experiences with the Helix in abit more detail than I did on a previous post.

But, although I probably shouldn't have bought the People, my gosh, it is absolutely awesome. My LT150 was great but it doesnt even begin to compare to the People 250.

  4. Hi Jeffraham,

I seem to be having the same problem with my Kymco Bet&Win 150 as you. It starts, runs rought for 2-5 seconds and dies. Any attempt to give it throttle kills it right away. The scooter only has 1,800km, the battery is fully charged, there is pletty of gas too.

Do you definitely know what the problem is with yours ? Can you send me some suggestions at mikeskymco@gmail.com.

    Thanks, I appreciate any help.
    Mike
