Hey, Franck!

I'll be at the Flying Saucer (behind Union Station on Broadway, next door to the Frist Center) from ~6:00-7:30 p.m. tonight for Drinking Liberally. I may even ride the People 250. :) Stop by, if you can!

  1. Jones, I have a question (not Obama/Liberal/Democrat oriented, but certainly scooter oriented).

I wanted to check the battery on Agility and to add distilled water if neccessary as I did in the past on my other scooters/bikes. The battery has a lid that opens all battery compartments. However, the user`s manual says that this battery is maintenance free and does not require adding electrolite?!?

I think this is strange because no maintenance batteries usually are so called "dry" batteries and do not have a lid on the top, they are completely sealed.

    Any opinion/info about this? :)

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Sasa -- The batteries supplied with Kymco scooters are, indeed, "maintenance-free." The cap on top is not meant to be removed. The batteries are shipped to the dealers "dry," with the acid mixture sealed in a series of heavy plastic tubes. The dealer adds the acid mix, hammers the cap on with a rubber mallet, and connects the assembled battery to a charger for an hour or two. Then, it's ready to be installed in the scooter.

  3. Thanks for the reply. The sole existence of the cap is what puzzles me. :)

  5. Hey man, do you know what happened to the scootnashville.com site? I would be willing to throw another forum up. I think the community needs it.
